Welcome to "A Parade of Programs: Resources for Library Programming." The performers, authors, speakers, and groups included in this database have all been recommended FOR Illinois libraries BY Illinois librarians and library staff members; the name of the librarian or library staff member is included in each entry. The individuals and groups listed in this database present programs and performances for a wide range of audiences, from preschoolers to adults, from family audiences to teens.
Using the buttons on the navigation bar at the top of this page, you will be able to search the database, find suggestions of other programming resources, add your recommendation to an individual or group already in the database, or recommend that an individual or group be added to the database.
The purpose of this database is to offer a "first step" in finding performers, authors, speakers, and groups that are appropriate to present programs in libraries. Although the information in each entry has been verified with the individuals and groups listed, nothing takes the place of contacting that individual or group for complete booking details.
This database began in 2001 as a cooperative grant project among eight Illinois regional library systems. In 2003 it became an ongoing project of the Illinois Library System Directors Organization (ILSDO). As a result, all nine Illinois regional library systems are now part of this project. Alliance Library System is the coordinating system.
